Novus System

West-Com Nurse Call Systems is proud to announce the unveiling of its new system,

 NOVUS®

Novus is Latin for “extraordinary,” and our new nurse call system is exactly that.  It features a new computer designed by West-Com, Cat-5 cabling, a new i-Dome™ for instant status of at-risk patients, newly-designed patient and staff stations, new bathroom push/pull assist station (since not every bathroom call is an emergency), and new web-browser capability that will give medical facilities the ability to do more than they’ve ever done before, faster, easier and more securely from many locations.

Novus will grow with your facility’s needs.  It is backwards compatible.  If you have an older West-Call product, it can be adapted to a Novus™ System.

The new hospital bezels were designed with the hospital in mind with a sleeker look for easy cleaning.

It features a new breakaway which gives added protection to the patient station while making a more secure pillow speaker connection that eliminates false “cord out” calls.

It provides direct interface to multiple wireless solutions including paging, wireless phones, Vocera, and patient and asset locators.  You can locate hospital equipment stat with IR-RF.

The new computer works on flash memory.  All your data and log files are stored on a hard drive.  If, by any chance, your hard drive should go down, all your files are automatically stored on the flash memory, then the West-Call© data manager automatically restores your information to your hard drive when it comes back on line.  And vice versa.  The West-Call© IP3 is robust and way more failsafe than any conventional computer.  It’s an industrial grade, fanless computer that weighs about five pounds and is easy to mount.  It runs on an Intel Pentium IV processor running at 1.4 GHZ.  It basically won’t wear out.

Focus Care and Focus Care AV

The FocusCare® software for the West-Com® nurse call systems provides features not found in other systems of its class.

Room Status Feature: New map features allow for odd-shaped and unusually configured bed layouts. When a patient checks out, the map indicates that in red; when a room is being cleaned, the color on the map flashes yellow; it returns to green when a room is clean and ready for a new patient. This color scheme can be tailored as desired.

Active calls are displayed in an easy-to-read list that includes the room number and bed that placed the call, the type of call that was placed and a call timer. Press one button and automatically answer the highest priority call and assign the patient's request to the correct staff member in one step.

Users can have their own passwords, which reports who was logged in and out. It matches names and changes them on the master. Focus Care will support advanced interfaces with systems such as Vocera, radio paging, admissions computers, infrared staff tracking, wireless phones, and telemetry. It will also communicate with the West-Call® TQI reporting system, ADT and West-Call® CDT to report code blue and other call types remotely.

Endeavor
The West-Call® Endeavor is a multi-purpose tone-visual communications system designed to address healthcare communication concerns. Whether you are a clinic or a hospital the endeavor is the solution.  Its flexibility allows every facility to customize a system to meet their specific needs without the cost usually associated with the word custom.  By using micro-controllers that can be easily programmed and re-programmed without having to replace any parts, the Endeavor is truly a dynamic system that can change as you change.  It can be a stand-alone system for small clinics or it can be fully integrated into a complex communication system in large hospitals.  With the Endeavor it's up to you.
Endeavor Clinic
The West-Call® Endeavor Clinic light signaling system is easy to learn and simple to use. With just a push of a button, patient rooms are properly managed and patient flow is easy to monitor. When a patient enters the room, a color-coded button conveniently located outside each patient room is pressed, silently signaling that the patient is waiting. Room Status Panels represent different caregivers and room conditions through a variety of colored buttons and flashing lights. The West-Call® Endeavor Clinic can easily integrate with additional components such as wall-mounted Emergency Stations, Pull Cord Stations, Staff Duty Stations, Help Assist Stations and In-Room Patient Timers. Light Panels can also be installed in physicians' offices to signal that a patient is waiting or in other areas where specialized personnel can be notified remotely when assistance is needed. Interface the Endeavor Clinic with pocket pagers and receive instant notification from anywhere in the facility. The customizability of the Endeavor Clinic provides the technology needed to give the expert care your patients deserve.
i-Page
The West-Call® i-Page is a browser-based in-house paging application that allows users to enter a message and send it to any by choosing their name from a list and entering their pager number. Radio page messages can be sent to any staff member with a phone or pager right from the PC in your own office. i-Page uses staff members' names, staff levels, and pager numbers that have already been entered into the West-Call® Odyssey Plus nurse call system.
Marc II Intercom Sys
New office potential: better internal communication and fewer disturbances. How many times during the day do you try to get a hold of someone who is not available? Multiply the time lost by the number of people on your staff and you'll be surprised how much effective working time gets wasted. Conventional systems such as the telephone and ordinary intercom systems give you no idea why the person you are trying to call doesn't answer, where he oe she is at that moment or when he or she will be back. Failure to get a reply interrupts the course of work, it is irritating and reduces motivation. These disturbance factors do not feature in any cost calculations and thus constitute shadow functions. The Marc II was designed to bring greater efficiency and more harmony to internal communications.
Odyssey Plus
The West-Call® Odyssey Plus is the top of the line, micro-processor based, touch screen nurse call system. Developed and manufactured in northern California, West-all® is able to incorporate the latest technology, such as interactive touch screens, that allow the user to intuitively navigate through West-Call® Odyssey Plus. The West-Call® Odyssey Plus software was developed with a team of nursing administrators and nursing managers representing a cross section of healthcare knowledge. The resultant product is a nurse call system that is easily adaptable to all areas of a hospital, giving each area the unique features it needs in a nurse call. This systems flexability saves staff members time and frustration because they do not have to learn a different nurse call for each area of the hospital. The West-Call® Odyssey Plus hardware was designed by engineers and technicians with more than 50 years experience in designing and installing nurse call systems. Everything from the pillow speakers to the pull cords are made to withstand the heavy everyday usage that occurs in hospitals. The system comes with special diagnostic software to allow technicians the capability of pinpointing any problem that might occur quickly and easily. This diagnostic software can also be accessed remotely using a modem.
