FocusCare software provides intelligent, broad-ranging capabilities and offers medical facilities great dependability and cost-effectiveness. FocusCare offers unparalleled flexibility, which allows clinics to adapt it to their specific needs. It functions as the brain and heart of our unique Novus system and was developed by listening to the needs of healthcare professionals at every level including nurses, bio-med specialists, hospital administrators, engineers, and the patients themselves.
This easy-to-use and maintain system allows for customizable signaling color schemes and sensitive mapping options that accommodate unusual room or bed layouts. It also features a sophisticated data management and contingency backup system, which allows for close patient monitoring and provides advanced interface support for other vital hospital systems and wireless technology. The focus of this system is always on providing excellent and efficient patient care and staff satisfaction.
A smart visual system for the medical environment
The WestCall Novus Visual Indicator Panel offers staff members a variety of functions to improve patient care within their facility. The conservative, simplified design allows staff to use the system seamlessly and intuitively. The Novus VIP includes a programmable mini dome light, speaker grill, status indicator LED light, mute button, and 32 room indicator windows with a removable faceplate that makes the ID grid easy to alter. It can be installed in the hallway and used as a Mini-Master to inform staff members of patient status or to direct staff to the appropriate patient room. The VIP panel can also be installed as a “stand alone” annunciator in a visual-only system and can operate as a zone light, annunciating broad area call signals.

The FocusCare Call Display Terminal with IPC-5 serves as a communication hub for the nurse call station, providing information access, patient calls, and emergency alerts through one concentrated device. Calls can be filtered from any controller or through the central terminal. The terminal’s 19-inch screen monitor allows for easy call/list management for patients and staff and provides visual call display and sound (audio handset not included). Staff information can be sent from another master station or entered manually. The terminal connects to the Nurse Call network via Ethernet.

West-Com’s patented i-Dome®† was specifically designed to drastically improve patient care by providing a more effective alert system. The i-Dome® offers medical facilities a professional, clean look and uses color-coded lights and buttons that are clearly visible from a great distance. It meets all HIPAA regulations and ensures complete patient privacy while providing critical information and alerts to the appropriate staff in just a single glance.
Through its interface with the nurse call system, patient bed and wireless devices, the i-Dome® can be programmed to alert staff to a variety of clinical conditions and patient needs such as pain management, documentation and reassessment checks, as well as identifying "at-risk" patients to reduce the number of patient falls. Staff can activate timers to visually remind them when it is time to reassess a patient’s medication and can be instantly alerted when there is a change in a patient's bed status.
The i-Dome has a clear LED light and three configurable Sealed Membrane Active Raised Tactile, SMART™ switches, which can display a vast assortment of colors in a customizable array of light assignments. These switches can be customized to suit your facility’s needs and are easy to operate and clean and are infection-control-friendly. The i-Dome® operates independently and can function alongside any existing nurse call system providing clinical environments with a simple, yet powerful way to improve patient care.
Clear, customizable alerts with a focus on patient privacy
Keep patient privacy a priority with West-Com’s i-Status®. This stand-alone device functions discretely within facilities to give staff quick and clear alerts for medication reminders, clean/dirty bed status, assistance calls and other functions that a traditional call button cannot specify. It operates independently of any nurse call station, patient station or dome light to provide medical facilities greater options for superior flexibility and customization. Its ability to display multiple alerts simultaneously provides healthcare systems opportunities to increase time optimization.
"Push" for assistance, "Pull" for emergency
In the fast-paced medical environment, it is vitally important for staff members to remain informed so they can provide patients with superior care. Our patented Push/Pull™† Station gives patients the ability to keep staff alerted to how urgently they need assistance. Pressing the clearly-labeled "Assistance" SMART™ switch informs staff members that the patient needs assistance. However, pulling the eight-foot cord alerts caregivers that the patient requires immediate help. The Push/Pull Station also features a large "CANCEL" SMART™ switch that makes it easy to cancel calls. The Push/Pull station is made with an attractive Lexan membrane and is easily setup by a plug-in connection to the system wiring.
There is an optional glow-in-the-dark pull cord available to enhance patients' sense of security for low-visibility areas. The Push/Pull Station features a clear call-assurance LED that lets patients know their call have gone through and staff are responding.
When it's more urgent than a normal call, assistance is just a tug away
The WestCall Novus Pull Cord Stations alert staff members to the location where urgent help is required. A highly visible eight-foot pull cord extends from the station to the ground, which allows easy access and operation for patients and staff that are either sitting or reaching from the floor. There is a glow-in-the-dark, infection-control-approved pull cord available to enhance patients’ sense of security in low-visibility areas. The stations feature a highly visible call assurance LED to let patients know their calls were received and staff are responding. The stations also come equipped with a large "CANCEL" SMART™ switch that makes it easy to cancel calls.
More than a light; a patient's lifeline
The Novus LED Corridor Dome Light (NV-Dome) provides immediate and clear visual notification of a room’s status and needs to staff members. The NV-Dome easily mounts to the wall or ceiling for increased visibility from all angles within your clinical environment and is typically used for corridor indication of patient calls, patient waiting, staff calls, emergency calls, code blue, and code pink indications. It features eight customizable colors and four different light indication modes to offer staff clear visual alerts that keep your facility focused on time optimization.
The WestCall NV-Dome offers the following long-life, low-power RGB LED colors: yellow, green, red, blue, violet, turquoise, orange (2nd and 3rd positions only), and white (top and 4th positions only.)
The NV-Dome can be set to several different light modes including: Solid, slow flashing, fast flashing, and scrolling indications.
Providing visual and audible alerts to a patient’s status
The Novus Dome Light with audio capabilities (NV-DOME/A) provides an immediate and clear visual and audible notification of a room’s status and needs to staff members. The LED colors available for this product include: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, turquoise and violet. The NV-DOME/A easily mounts to the wall for increased visibility from all angles. It is used exclusively with the NV-SPS1 (Single Gang Full Duplex Audio Patient Station) and uses a 5-pin Panduit header to connect the audio cable to the patient station.
Improve your facility’s functionality with the NV-Dome Adapter
It allows staff to attach a 2-gang NV-Dome to a 1-gang back-box. The NV-Dome Adapter features a standard ABS Plastic that seamlessly matches that of the NV-Dome Light for a clean, professional appearance. It can be used on a shallow, 2-gang back-box to increase depth for easy installation, and has mounting holes for use with a standard 1-gang plaster ring.
