This easy-to-use and maintain system allows for customizable signaling color schemes and sensitive mapping options that accommodate unusual room or bed layouts. It also features a sophisticated data management and contingency backup system, allows for close patient monitoring and provides advanced interface support for other vital hospital systems and wireless technology.
A smart visual system to improve patient/staff communication
The WestCall Novus Visual Indicator Panel offers hospital staff a variety of functions to improve patient care. The Novus VIP includes a programmable mini dome light, speaker grill, status indicator LED light, mute button, and 32 room indicator windows with a removable faceplate that makes the ID grid easy to alter. It can be installed in the hallway and used as a Mini-Master to inform staff members of patient status or to direct staff to the appropriate patient room. It can also function as an expanded duty station when installed in a staff area and used in conjunction with a full Novus system and can operate as a zone light, annunciating broad area call signals.
The system comes with 16 standard tones, however, custom file tones are available upon request. There are also several colors and six flash rates available for the LED and mini dome lights for the NV-VIP including:

Helps ensure that patients and staff are on the same page. It helps boost staff efficiency as well as keep patients informed along the way by communicating important reminders, updates, current requests and general information to assigned staff.
Replacing old-fashioned grease boards
The Unit CareBoard™ displays current status information for a set of beds in your facility to maximize the organization and time spent to respond. It is designed for hallways or nursing areas where a large screen monitor can provide current assignments, patient status information and various other custom selectable fields. Any changes (bed assignments, staffing, patient info, bed availability, etc.) made through the web interface, FocusCare® masters, ADT or other methods have the ability to be reflected on the Unit CareBoard™ display.
With the optional Stryker iBED interface, the Unit CareBoard™ can display information directly from each bed, including: bed exit, brake, side rail, fowler, bed height alarms.
The FocusCare Web Suite gives staff members an optimal way to view and manage resident information, while maintaining security against unauthorized access. The Web Suite provides browser access to all information stored in the nurse call system, and virtually any information accessible through the FocusCare master user interface can be managed through the FCWeb Suite. The Suite additionally allows access to individual functions based on user ID/password profiles, which is ideal for a senior living environment or center. Any user who has browser access to this application can use these functions, at the facility’s discretion.
Clear, customizable alerts with a focus on patient privacy
Keep patient privacy a priority with West-Com’s i-Status®. This stand-alone device gives staff quick, discrete and clear alerts for medication reminders, clean/dirty bed status, assistance calls and other functions that a traditional call button cannot specify.
It operates independently of any nurse call station, patient station, or dome light, providing superior flexibility and customization. Its ability to display multiple alerts simultaneously provides any healthcare system additional flexibility and a great opportunity for time optimization.
Data and trend tracking software to improve patient care
FocusCare® Historian is West-Com's most advanced web-based data reporting software. Designed to provide users with important call reports based on patient and staff member activity, FocusCare Historian can help staff identify important trends and track drastic changes for a single bed, multiple beds, all beds for a selected master station, or all beds in the facility. By using Historian’s customized filter system, these reports can be generated based on multiple factors including: Patient Request, Response Time, Staff Members, Bed and Patient Information. These filters also help eliminate unnecessary data from reports, which enables the user to obtain specific information in a professional format. Reports are produced in full color for professional printing and for fast and easy information recovery on the screen.
A system that works for you in critical situations
Eliminate unnecessary confusion in critical situations with the Emergency Stations (Novus and 2000-series). Staff members can rely on WestCall Emergency Stations to send quick and clear alerts to their teams complete with a call-assurance LED light confirmation that lets the staff member know the call was placed. Each emergency station has a color-coded Sealed Membrane Active Raised Tactile (SMART) switch that clearly states its function, including a large, highly visible switch to ‘CANCEL’ the alert. The simple-to-operate SMART switches are infection-control-friendly, fire-retardant and easy to clean.

Our patented Push/Pull™† Station gives patients the ability to let staff know how urgently they need assistance. Pressing the clearly-labeled “Assistance” SMART™ switch informs staff members that the patient needs assistance. However, pulling the eight-foot cord alerts caregivers that the patient requires immediate help. The Push/Pull Station also features a large “CANCEL” SMART ™ Switch that makes it easy to cancel calls.
There is an optional glow-in-the-dark pull cord available to enhance patients’ sense of security. The Push/Pull Station features a highly visible call-assurance LED that lets patients know their calls have gone through and staff are responding.
Lighting the way to superior care
West-Com’s patented i-Dome®† was specifically designed to drastically improve patient care by providing a more effective alert system. It meets all HIPAA regulations and ensures complete patient privacy while providing critical information and alerts to the appropriate staff in just a single glance.
Through its interface with the nurse call system, patient bed and wireless devices, the i-Dome® can be programmed to alert staff to a variety of urgent conditions and patient needs such as pain management, documentation and reassessment checks, as well as identifying “at-risk” patients to reduce the number of patient falls. Staff can activate timers to visually remind them when it is time to reassess a patient’s medication and can be instantly alerted when there is a change in a patient’s bed status
The i-Dome has a clear LED light and three configurable Sealed Membrane Active Raised Tactile, SMART™ switches, which can display a vast assortment of colors in a customizable array of light assignments. These switches can be customized to suit your facility’s needs and are easy to operate and clean and are infection-control-friendly. The i-Dome® operates independently and can function alongside any existing nurse call system providing hospital environments with a simple, yet powerful way to improve patient care.
The WestCall Novus Pull Cord Stations alert staff members to the location where urgent help is required. An eight-foot pull cord with a tassel extends from the station to the ground allowing for easy access by patients or staff whether in a chair or reaching from the floor. There is a glow-in-the-dark, infection-control-approved pull cord available to enhance patients' sense of security. The stations also feature a highly visible call assurance LED to let patients know their calls were received and staff are responding. The stations also come equipped with a large "CANCEL" SMART ™ switch that makes it easy to cancel calls.
More than a light; a patient’s lifeline
West-Com’s NV-DOME provides an immediate and clear visual notification of a room’s status and needs to staff members. Improve the quality and efficiency of your staff’s response with eight customizable colors and 4 different light indication modes. The NV-DOME easily mounts to the wall or ceiling for increased visibility from all angles.
Custom Colors: Long-life, low-power RGB LED lamps display yellow, green, red, blue, violet, turquoise, orange (2nd and 3rd positions only), and white (top and 4th positions only.)
Light modes: Solid, slow flashing, fast flashing, and scrolling indications.
Extra Features: Translucent lens allows maximum visibility in all directions and in high ambient lighting conditions. Built in buzzer for code calls, normal and emergency calls can be distinguished by different visual signals for efficient identifications. Configurable to any type of alarm.
Typical applications: Corridor indication of patient calls, patient waiting, staff calls, emergency calls, code blue and code pink indications. The NV-DOME is compatible with the WestCall Novus system.
